A hybrid engineered structure for the addition of significant interior space able to support heavy equipment and extensive plumbing and electrical servicing. The Bilt team was engaged by a pharmacy retail group looking to convert a vacant auto body shop for their purposes, including retrofitting an existing building to accommodate a new interior engineered structure within the space. The Bilt team, in conjunction with our clients’ architects and consultants, created a number of design and fabrication options to maximize aesthetics while maintaining structural integrity and maximizing ceiling height, ease of servicing and cost. We successfully completed the structural steel, concrete block and engineered wood of a hybrid of old and new structural members efficiently, safely and on budget.
